2019 “A” and “B” Championships (Super Saturday)

The “A” and “B” finals (aka Super Saturday) are this upcoming Saturday Nov 2nd at the Allison Grounds Field.

“A” Final

The Volunteers, in their third season, have finished in 1st Place with a record of 10-2-0. During the Regular Season, the Volunteers won all three games against the Rage (40-14, 40-6 and 15-0).  However, the Rage are the defending “A” Champions after winning the 2018 A Championship 13-12 vs. the Volunteers!  This game is a fight for the Rage wanting to defend their title while the Volunteers want one!

“B” Final

11:00amAverage Joe’s at Bandits

The Bandits, in their fifth season, have won the “B” Championship before back in 2016.  The second year team, Average Joe’s, are going back to the “B” Championship looking for the title.  The only game between these two teams in 2019 was on opening day on Sept 12th where the Bandits won 34-7.  Any Given Super Saturday…a Championship Team will be made!  Who’s it going to be…

Playoff Time is here this upcoming Tuesday Oct 29th and here are the games scheduled at Allison Grounds:

Playoffs

6:30pm Bandits (3rd) at Rage (2nd)

8:00pm Average Joe’s (4th) at Volunteers (1st)

***Championships – The Winners will advance to the “A” while the runner-ups advance to the “B”***

Super Saturday (aka the Championships) will be held on Saturday November 2nd at Allison Grounds.

2019 Season – 1st Team Rep Meeting – Thurs Aug 29th 7pm at Pub Down Under

The 1st Team Rep Meeting is on Thursday August 29th at 7pm Pub Down Under.

All teams wishing to be part of the 2019 SJMTFL season must have a representative present. New players and representatives for teams new to the league are also advised to attend.

If a team is unable to have a representative present, please call Ken Lawrence Sr. at 333-3891 to let him know.

2018 “A” Champions – RAGE

Congrats to the 2018 SJMTFL “A” Champions:

Rage

The Rage won 13-12 over the Volunteers and this is the 2nd “A” Championship for the Rage.  The Rage join a unique group of teams that have won multiple “A” Championships beside the Raiders since 88′.  Fun Fact… no team has ever won three “A” Championships beside the Raiders since 88′.

2018 “B” Champions – BRICK CITY BOMBERS

Congrats to the 2018 SJMTFL “B” Champions:

Brick City Bombers

The Bombers won 8-6 over the Average Joe’s. The Brick City Bombers are back to back “B” Champions.  Since 88′, this is only the fourth time where a team has won back to back “B” Championships.  Fun Fact… no team has ever won three “B” Championships in a row since 88′.

The Volunteers, in their second season, have finished in 1st Place again with a record of 8-2-1 . During the Regular Season, the Volunteers won two of the three games (20-19 and 20-0) against the Rage while the other game was a tie 28-28 on opening day.  The Rage are in their 10th season and they won the “A” title back in 2016.  The past is the past and now the only thing remains… one game to determine the “A” Champion!

“B” Final

The Brick City Bombers, in their fourth season, have gone to the “B” Championship each year.  The difference this year.. is that they are the defending “B” Champions.  The first year team, Average Joe’s, won 2 out of 3 games during the regular season (24-7 and 21-0) against the Bombers.  This game is a fight for the Brick City Bombers wanting to defend their title while the Average Joe’s want one!
